  • What is your turnaround time?

We have a 4-tiered priority system:-

Level 1 Urgent (within 2 hours)
Level 2 Same Day (before 4.00 pm)
Level 3 Overnight (delivery after 4.00 pm returned by 10.00 next day
Level 4 24 hour
  • What do I need to use your service?

Some form of digital dictation equipment – we are happy to advise on this in more detail if required. We would be delighted to provide advice and arrange supply and installation of digital dictation equipment. If you are already using digital machines we could be typing for you now. We would recommend a business dictation system, not just the cheapest you can find – this really could be a false economy. If you are interested in dictating on your “smartphone” we can arrange this for you.

  • Are all your typists from and based in the UK?

Yes, we believe that only UK staff can provide the quality of service we offer to our clients.

  • What quality control procedures do you have in place?

Typing is checked for accuracy and format before returning to the client.

  • What is the quality of your individual typists?

All BACKUP Typing staff have high level secretarial backgrounds, with PA level experience. With this level of experience and expertise We are able to offer high quality typing and use their initiative to ensure the clients receive work of the highest standard and can work with a variety of different templates.

  • What methods for customer feedback do you have in place?

Any queries should be directed to Debbie Day, Managing Director, who will ensure all queries are dealt with quickly. All customer feedback is greatly appreciated.

  • How do we send work to BACKUP Typing

Dictation can be sent to us via email, uploaded directly to our website or using specialist job workflow systems at the touch of a button. We are able to transcribe from .dss, .wav and .wma files among others.

  • How is typing returned?

Completed documents are emailed to the dictator or his secretary or both, as requested by the client. Documents can also be downloaded from our website.

  • Document security?

Our systems allocate secure usernames and passwords for individual users. Only people with that information can access the site. The typists also have secure access to our systems. If required, we are happy to sign confidentiality agreements. We have had no confidentiality or security issues since we began trading in 1988.

  • Charges & Billing

Our charges are based on per minute of typing time. Invoices are supplied on a monthly basis. The invoice will list charges for each author showing document type and charge per job and can be further broken down into departments if required.

  • Trial

We would be happy to carry out some trial work to show you the quality of work you would expect to receive at all times.

  • You say you are “recommended” – who by?
